StackIQ Releases Stacki 3.2 | @DevOpsSummit @StackIQ #Linux #DevOps
StackIQ expands offerings based upon the Stacki open source project
Aug. 3, 2016 05:00 PM
StackIQ has announced the release of Stacki 3.2. Stacki is an easy-to-use Linux server provisioning tool. Stacki 3.2 delivers new capabilities that simplify the automation and integration of site-specific requirements. StackIQ is the commercial entity behind this open source bare metal provisioning tool.
Since the release of Stacki in June of 2015, the Stacki core team has been focused on making the Community Edition meet the needs of members of the community, adding features and value, while maintaining the StackIQ supported Pro and Enterprise editions. This release returns some focus to the Pro and Enterprise editions, adding functionality customers have requested, and improving reporting/monitoring.
Customers both large and small have used the Stacki family of products to automate their server provisioning, big data, and cloud installations. With this release, the Community Edition received a host of fixes to minor problems, while Pro received a new UI and enhanced reporting, hardware management has been enhanced. In addition, both Pro and Enterprise Editions have been given the ability to support more Linux distributions via more installation mechanisms.
What's New in Stacki 3.2
Advanced server/cluster monitoring GUI.
Stacki Pro now has a fully functional GUI for:
- Server Monitoring
- Infrastructure Validation
- Problem Detection via Test Suite
Stacki Pro has added the ability to automatically provision systems using UEFI paving the way for users to benefit from next generation hardware, secure boot, and IPv6. Support for installing Ubuntu servers.
New pallets allow users to configure their Stacki Pro server so that it can install Ubuntu servers.
"The Stacki adoption rate has grown 10x versus last year. Feedback from our diverse community has been a key driver to introduce features that users need to manage their datacenter infrastructure," states Tim McIntire, CEO and Co-Founder, StackIQ. "These additions will help new customers and those who have taken the step to install the Stacki core, and are now looking for a supported Edition to improve their datacenter operations."
Well over a million Linux server nodes are under management by Stacki, and its open source sibling the Rocks Cluster Distribution (Stacki includes software developed by the Rocks Cluster Group at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California, San Diego, and its contributors).
Stacki is an open source software project. Contributions, questions, and comments are encouraged by and for the community. End users and developers are invited to visit the resources below for information and to download Stacki for immediate use.
